Under our Javits Juniors program, our employees provide educational tours to school classes, summer camps and other youth organizations from across the New York region. Participants learn about the mission and operations of the Javits Center, the impact of our sustainable improvements and the importance of the events industry, as well as the legacy of our namesake, the late Senator Jacob K. Javits. Tours typically last 60 to 90 minutes, including visits to our nearly 7-acre green roof. If you would like to schedule a Javits Juniors tour, please send an email to Communications Assistant Indira Turney at iturney@javitscenter.com.
The Javits Juniors Scholarship Program is a new effort designed to expand our mission by supporting New York’s next generation of leaders and reinforcing the importance of civic duty. Thanks to the support of the Marian B. and Jacob K. Javits Foundation and in conjunction with the Fund for Public Schools and the New York City Department of Education, college scholarships are provided to local high school students who compete in an essay contest designed to encourage community engagement and innovative thinking.
Within New York City, public transportation is always a quick and affordable way to go- and the opening of the new 7 Subway line extension across the street makes the trip even more convenient.
