What is the phone number of the Javits Center?
The general information number is (212) 216-2000. Operators are available Monday-Friday from 9:00am – 5:30pm. On weekends, a recording with information on events currently taking place at the Javits Center is available.
Where is the Javits Center and how do I get there?
The Javits Center is located on 11th Avenue between 34th and 39th streets. Pedestrian entrances are located at 35th, 36th, 37th, and 38th Streets on 11th Avenue.

Nearby Buses:
M34 cross town bus: Runs east/west on 34th Street. Stops on 11th Avenue outside the Javits Center and at Penn Station.
M42 cross town bus: Runs east/west on 42nd street. Stops directly outside the Javits Center, Grand Central Station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Public transportation by city bus or subway costs $2.25. The subways accept MetroCards. Buses accept MetroCards and exact change fares (no bills). With MetroCards you can transfer from subway to bus and bus to subway for one fare within a two hour period. MetroCards are available at the nearby stores, subway stations and the Hudson News stands located in the Javits Center. Other Transportation Options:
New Jersey Transit and other buses arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. The M42 will bring you from there to the Javits Center.

The unit of fare is:
One-fifth of a mile, when the taxicab is traveling at 6 miles per hour or more; or 120 seconds (at a rate of twenty cents per minute), when the taxicab is not in motion or is traveling at less than 6 miles per hour.
Different variables such as heavy traffic and tolls should be taken into account in gauging the final cost of your trip.
A cab ride between Grand Central, Penn Station or Port Authority to the Javits Center can cost anywhere from $7-15 depending on the traffic.
Flat Fare from John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport:
For trips between (to and from) Manhattan and JFK International Airport, the flat fare is $45.00 plus any tolls on the meter. Surcharges will not be added and there is no charge for luggage. If passengers request multiple stops, the flat rate of $45.00 will be collected at the first stop in either Manhattan or JFK International Airport, and the meter will be activated at the standard city rate for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger. All trips between JFK International Airport and New York City destinations other than Manhattan will use that standard metered rate.
Can I walk to the Center from Penn Station?
It is possible to walk from the subways in the Penn Station area to the Javits Center by heading west along 34th street to 11th Avenue. It’s about a twenty-minute walk.
Where is the closest parking garage? How do I get to Javits by car?
There is no on-site parking at the Javits Center. However, there are many parking garages in the vicinity. The average price for parking is between $30-$50 a day and is subject to change depending on the Center’s activity. Check our site nearby parking garages and directions on how to get to the Center by car or truck.
How far are the closest major airports?
Of the three major airports in the New York metropolitan area La Guardia Airport is the closest to midtown and the Javits Center.
Travel time by taxi from the airports to midtown Manhattan varies by airport. Travel time from LaGuardia to midtown can take anywhere from 25-40 minutes. JFK can take anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour and Newark 40 to 60 minutes.
There is a flat fare of $45 (tolls and tip extra) from JFK to Manhattan. The flat fee also applies to trips from Manhattan to JFK. No surcharges are added to these rates. If passengers request multiple stops, the flat rate of $45.00 will be collected at the first stop in either Manhattan or JFK International Airport, and the meter will be activated at the standard city rate for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger. All trips between JFK International Airport and New York City destinations other than Manhattan will use that standard metered rate. From LaGuardia Airport the fare is metered and can be anywhere from $28-$35, (tolls and tip extra). At Newark Airport the dispatcher hands the passenger a slip of paper with a flat fare ranging from $38-$45 (toll and tip extra) depending on the destination in Manhattan.

Is there WiFi service at Javits?
Wireless access is currently available throughout the Javits Convention Center. The service can accommodate one computer per connection and can only be subscribed to on site from the computer that will be accessing the Internet. Pricing is as follows (prices are subject to change):
256K bandwidth: $4.95 per hour
$29.95 per show day
$69.95 for (3) days
It is up to the customer to be familiar with using wireless services as we do not offer technical support for connectivity issues.
Basic Connection Steps:
1. Turn on your wireless ready computer (from your booth or anywhere within the Javits Center) and select the “Javits” wireless access point.
2. Open up your internet browser and the sign up page will appear.
3. If you have previously purchased access use the login area on the left hand side of the screen to login using your email address and the password you specified at purchase.
4. If you have not previously purchased access, click on the Get High Speed Internet Access button and provide the required billing and credit card information and you will be given access once you sign up successfully.
5. A receipt for your purchase will be emailed to the address specified at sign up.
Please be aware that VPN is not supported on our wireless network. We do not sell wireless cards or any other wireless accessories here on site.
The Javits wireless system is used primarily by our attendees and exhibitors to check email and browse the Internet. If you are planning to utilize the wireless network for an important core function within your booth we recommend that you call us prior to the event to discuss why our wired high-speed Internet options might be a better fit for your company.
How do I contact Lost & Found?
Lost & Found is open Monday-Friday from 8am to 7pm. The phone number is 212 216-2344.
Where is the First Aid Station?
St. Vincent's Hospital maintains a medical facility located on Level 1 in the southwest corner of the building with a nurse on duty during the Center's normal business hours. During events with more than 5,000 people, the office is staffed by EMT-Ps from St. Vincent's hospital and at least one ambulance on site. Breast feeding mothers are welcomed to use the nurse’s station.
Is the Center Accessible?
The Center has sidewalk ramps, automatic doors at all street levels, restrooms and elevators accessible for persons with mobility impairments. Payphones are accessible and are equipped with volume and TTY capability for those with speech and hearing disabilities
A limited number of wheel chairs are available at no fee. The Center can also assist patrons wishing to rent motorized wheelchairs. Call our Command Center at (212) 216-2196 before you arrive for information on reserving or renting a wheelchair.
While no public parking is available on-site, a limited number of spaces can be made available for customers with a valid Parking Permit for People with Disabilities issued by a government authority. Call (212) 216-2344 for information and reservations.
Guide Dogs and Service Animals are welcome at the Center provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate. Since questions sometimes arise regarding Service Animals when the need is not obvious, we suggest that patrons have a certification, license or some other document showing their need for their service animal. The owner takes full responsibility of his/her animal.
Do you have a coat /baggage check?
Yes. The cost is $3 per item. You can also check briefcases, backpacks, umbrellas and luggage.
What is the closest hotel to the Javits Center?
Check the Javits website for a list of nearby hotels or check the event website. Event planners often block hotel rooms at several hotels and provide shuttle service to and from the Javits Center for exhibitors and attendees.
How do I exhibit/attend an event? Where can I purchase tickets?
These requests are handled by the planner of each individual event. Check our website under “Events” and click on the show you’re interested in exhibiting/attending and there you will find the contact information.
